There are a handful of things that regularly shock me by the deep level of satisfaction they afford me.
Writing a song or poem (or a blog post).
Actually getting through all the things that I have to do in a day.
And the feeling that wells up as the deep misery of a tough bike ride through high winds (15-25 MPH), rain, and muddy dirt roads fades away.
Hey! Welcome to my world! Love those bike rides. Actually, I chickened out today and did Jamie podcast #2. Much nicer indoors on the trainer. Although I left all the mud on from the tri as a reminder :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you mean the rides where I find dirt and grass in my teeth? You LIKE those?
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm actually not sure what I think about the gay marriage debate.
ReplyDeleteI'm torn - I have traditional stance on marriage. But I also feel that banning gay marriage doesn't really address anything on the moral front. So maybe marriage should be a right for any couple, regardless of if I think it's morally okay. I mean, I'm not about to ban a Christian from marrying a non-Christian. I guess that's my roundabout way of saying "I'm not sure."
Also, I feel saddened that people tend to say and do hateful things, rather than have a healthy dialogue. I also think that the more conservative people can do well to re-guide their passions against other problems in our society, such as socio-economic disparity in our country.
